What do accountants and vampires have in common?

Quite a lot, actually.

But let me back up a bit. If you saw REUTS participating in the #MSWL Twitter Event this past week, you probably saw our request for a a shiny new take on the original vampire and zombie tales of old. The truth of the matter is, REUTS is so fortunate to have our very own shiny vampire story we’ve been given the opportunity to add to our collection. And we love vampires and zombies, so keep ’em coming. But, more importantly, this post is about the one we already have! Being such a huge fan of vampires, and frequently proclaiming Christopher Moore as my all-time favorite author, this acquisition has been especially exciting (the fan girl in me is going crazy right about now!)

So, back to the big question: What do accountants and vampires have in common?

Everything.

Well, everything in REUTS’ new title from our newest family member:

Drew Hayes, and his novel: The Utterly Uninteresting & Unadventurous Tales of Fred, The Vampire Accountant.

“Fred,” as we’ve been calling it, is a snarky satire following the main character– Fred, go figure– who just so happens to be a vampire… accountant. It falls beautifully within the same vein as You Suck, by the aforementioned Christopher Moore, and has the perfect blend of detail-oriented accountant narration, with quirky paranormal creatures, characters and sidekicks. We’re excited to add this title to our collection, as well as Drew as an author (and, it’s nice to see a dude in our lineup dominated by women 😉 )

The Utterly Uninteresting & unadventurous Tales of Fred, The Vampire Accountant, is scheduled to debut August 2014.

Learn more about Drew at his REUTS author page!

Welcome to the family!

Ashley "A.M." Ruggirello is an INFP author with glorious purple and gray hair, who currently lives in Beer and Cheese Land, Wisconsin with her husband, dog, and cat. When not lost in the fictional world of Skyrim (The Elder Scrolls; PSN: supersmaaashley), she can be found exploring design patterns and typography combinations, manipulating (hacking) website code, or with pen & paper in hand, writing her many YA and Adult novels (see below). She considers herself a designer by nature, a writer at heart, and always wanted to make video game walk-throughs as a child. (She still does. Things don't change that much.) Ashley’s favorite color is chartreuse, and she has an undeniable attraction to moss (not of the Kate variety). Ashley is represented by Mandy Hubbard of Emerald City Literary Agency.
