Ah, yes, smell that? Fall is in the air. Strangely, this often means the start of an urban fantasy binge-fest for our editors and staff (blame it on the proliferation of fall-time settings in our favorite paranormal novels, shows, and films, perhaps?), and this year is no exception. We’ve got three new urban fantasy titles headed your way soon, the first of which is one we’re gleefully revealing to you today.

J.M. Frey (author of The Skylark’s Saga and The Accidental Turn series) called this one, “A charming urban fairy tale about tolerance, acceptance, and discovering the wonders that may just be hidden in plain sight.” And Arthur Slade (author of Amber Fang) said, “It’s an excellent fantasy adventure packed with humor, unforgettable characters, and more twists and turns than an underground amusement ride. You’ll never look at a gargoyle in the same way. Or the city of Toronto. So much fun!”

Excited yet? If not, then check out this little number, courtesy of our resident cover guru, Ashley Ruggirello:

How you can say that doesn’t look like fun? The official back cover copy and purchase links will be available shortly, and Perpetua’s tale will be storming onto shelves September 10th, 2019, but don’t worry, you can add the book to your Goodreads TBR today:

If you’re local to the Portland, OR metropolitan area, then good news! James and The Night Girl will be making their first post-launch debut at Rose City Comic Con, thanks to the generous folks at Canada Council of the Arts. Keep an eye on our social media feeds for details, but if you’ll be attending, swing by the REUTS Booth and say hi. 😉

About the book:

The world has changed: demons of legend now live among humans, integrated into society through Government programs, wishing for peace.

Elixia Albelin, however, isn’t sold. As an Agent-in-training, she knows firsthand the blood-thirst of demons and isn’t jumping to befriend the monsters plaguing her dreams.

Gritty, powerful, and exciting, A Soul to Take is a gripping debut that explores prejudice, justice, and the consequences one family faces when those two collide.

Coming April 4th, or if you want to read it early, check out the blog tour sign up!

About the Author:

Emily Taylor began writing in early primary school and after two novellas, which will never see the light of day, she began to join writing sites. She finished her first novel, Blood of Angels, on Goodreads before moving to the disbanded Inkpop. There, she finished her second novel, To Turn Left, which hit the Top 5. Figment bought Inkpop in 2012, making her the last ever Inkie of the Week, and To Turn Left became a “handpicked fig” by author Jackson Pearce that same year. Recently,Taylor has become more active on Wattpad, finishing Unmask Me, A Soul to Take and a remake of Blood of Angels, which will enter the 2013 Watty Award Competition. Besides writing, Taylor currently studies Music Technology at her state’s Conservatorium and recently helped on Respect Cat Production’s feature film, In a Corner, as a Script Advisor. She looks forward to taking up screenwriting electives in the future. A Soul to Take is her first formally published work and Book One of The Soul Stealer’s Trilogy, a New Adult paranormal romance with elements of dark fantasy.

Hello, all!

We at REUTS are thrilled to announce three wonderful new books coming at you this spring:

A Soul To Take, by Emily Taylor (April 4th, 2017) is a futuristic New Adult urban fantasy. Agent-in-training Elixia knows firsthand the bloodthirst of the demons now being integrated into society. When a mission sours and her sister is caught in the crossfire, her only option is a taboo that goes against everything she believes in. (Cover reveal tomorrow!)

A Chosen War, by Carly Eldridge (April 25th, 2017) is a New Adult fantasy. All Maia wants is to be a photographer, not to take Mother Nature’s place as a guardian of the Earth. After the rogue Nature kills her parents, though, Maia’s only path to justice–for her parents and the planet–is to fight for this unasked-for destiny.

Roses, by Melinda Michaels (May 16th, 2017) is a grim Young Adult fairytale retelling, a follow-up to Michaels’ debut Golden, this time tackling a wolf at the door. After the brutal murder of her grandmother, Poppy is certain she’s next. Under the protection of Detective Owen Peirce, a not-so-charming prince with a knack for always being right, Poppy must go into hiding and try to figure out who is after her before the shadow finally catches up.

If you’re interested in a review copy or would like to participate in any cover reveals or blog tours, please feel free to email me: cal [at] reuts [dot] com.

Add these books on Goodreads, and mark your calendars! And as always, happy reading.

“Better to flee from death than feel its grip.
{Homer, THE ILLIAD}

We’re back for another #PressReleaseThursday! We might have been radio silent last week, but we were working hard to bring you this week’s news. Please join me in giving a warm welcome to the newest REUTS author, C.C. Dowling, and her NA Paranormal Romance, CONDUIT. When you think of paranormal creatures, many jump straight to vampires, werewolves, witches, etc… But what about Conduits, the beings in charge of seeing a soul through to the afterlife? Pegged as Beetlejuice meets Pushing Daisies, CONDUIT is new, exciting, and everything you’d hope for in an uncommon paranormal romance.

Dowling creates a fresh take on the hierarchy of the afterlife where, for some, death is only the beginning. Filled with action, romance, and a little quirk, and delivered with exceptional voice, CONDUIT will have you laughing, swooning, and hanging onto the edge of your seat with a read you won’t be able to put down.

 About C.C.

CariHeadshot

I’m an avid lover of all things fantasy. As a small child, I traveled to far away lands, dreamed about flying, and saw impossible things–like coins falling from the ceiling–while in the in-between of awake and asleep.

Now, I live in America’s most beautiful city, San Diego, with my toddler (who plays in our tiny back yard with the Faeries), my husband (the Financial Shaman), our Aussie (with mesmerizing blue eyes), and my pet dragon, who is the real reason my neighbor’s dog barks incessantly at night (I’m convinced).

When I’m not working in the field of neuroscience, I’m writing short stories, fantasy, and romance, or I’m out playing a round of disc golf with my boys and the dog. Also, I’m a natural health fanatic and an Independent Product Consultant with doTerra Essential Oils (which means, as a bonus, you’ll be getting health tips when visiting my website).
