REUTS Publication Camp Nano Teams – The Low Down

Today is July 1st! The beginning of Camp Nano, and the inaugural REUTS Camp Nano Team Competition! RCNTC, for short… which really isn’t any shorter… As promised in last week’s first, official (non-blog) newsletter, here’s all the information you need if you’ve signed up to participate. And if you happened to miss the announcement, sign up for receive our emails, here.

The Goal & The Prizes

Just like NaNoWriMo, the REUTS word-count goal is 50,000! And, fear not, we do have prizes for some top goal markers:

First to 50,000 words: A OOAK (one-of-a-kind) RCNTC champion t-shirt (image coming soon).

First to 100,000 words: A OOAK (one-of-a-kind) RCNTC mega-champion t-shirt (image coming soon).

Team with the highest word count: A REUTS writing/drafting journal, for all your WIPs!

The Teams & Checking In

Based on the genre feedback we received, we only have two team leaders (at the moment).

{Final teams will be posted on Friday– but get started within your genre right away!}

Each Sunday during the month of July, we ask that you email your team leader with your updated word count. Make sure you have “Camp Nano WC” in the subject, and the body of your message need only contain your current word count, unless you have a question for your team leader. The purpose of a team leader is to provide a second opinion, and answer any feedback questions you might have regarding your WIP– so don’t hesitate to reach out for advice!

Three other REUTS team members are interested in participating and leading, which leads us to our next section…

An Extension

Since the REUTS mailing list is new, we realize quite a few writers out there may have missed our sign-up newsletter, and the July 1st sign-up deadline. Because of this, we’re extending the deadline to July 4th, so be sure to get us your genre by emailing , commenting on our FB page, or commenting on this blog post. And don’t forget to sign up for our newsletters, by clicking here!

Ash

Ashley "A.M." Ruggirello is an INFP author with glorious purple and gray hair, who currently lives in Beer and Cheese Land, Wisconsin with her husband, dog, and cat. When not lost in the fictional world of Skyrim (The Elder Scrolls; PSN: supersmaaashley), she can be found exploring design patterns and typography combinations, manipulating (hacking) website code, or with pen & paper in hand, writing her many YA and Adult novels (see below). She considers herself a designer by nature, a writer at heart, and always wanted to make video game walk-throughs as a child. (She still does. Things don't change that much.) Ashley’s favorite color is chartreuse, and she has an undeniable attraction to moss (not of the Kate variety). Ashley is represented by Mandy Hubbard of Emerald City Literary Agency.

I would love to join in as well, it sounds fun. I’m writing in mainstream fiction.

    Hello.

Thanks for the Twitter follow. Of course I had to troll your site right after. 🙂

Just saw this and would like to join.

I’m continuing my Fractured Tales Series (not all heros are good, not all villains are bad). The characters come from fairytales, folklore, myths, legends, and other fictional works. In terms of genre, it falls under YA Fantasy.

Thanks for a great competition. I love the extra accountability to keep motivated in my word counts.

    Cheers,

    Tonette dela Luna
