FAQ of the Week:

What “counts” as a Classic Fairy Tale? Anything included in Grimm Brothers collections or anything “classic” enough to have been made into a major motion picture (i.e. Disney or WB.)

What doesn’t count? Urban legends, Mother Goose Rhymes, Edgar Allen Poe, Gemima Puddle duck, comic books, etc.

How much of the “original” story do I have to include? As long as there are several recognizable elements (at least one of the following: characters, plot, setting, etc.) of the original tale, you can be as creative as you like.
