The mountains are calling and I must go.

And we’re back with another #PressReleaseThursday. We’ve been on the lookout for a classic fantasy story, and we’re more than thrilled to say we’ve finally found one! Please join us all in welcoming one of our own, the lovely and talented Cait Spivey, and her NA Dark Fantasy novel, From Under the Mountain. If you’re a fan of traditional fantasy literature, this is one you don’t want to miss! Check it out:

From Under the Mountain is a dark fantasy which reminds us that not even the strongest magic can hide a secret forever. Nineteen-year-old Guerline’s ascent to the throne shatters everything she thought she knew about the witch clans that protect her empire—and when an ancient power breaks free from its prison under the mountain, the empress must decide who to trust, for the sake of her people. A classic fantasy in the vein of Robin McKinley, From Under the Mountain combines lyrical writing full of adventure with the political intricacies and world-building brilliance of fellow genre great Jane Lindskold, all set against the backdrop of one young woman’s journey toward discovering the strength of her own heart.

About Cait

Cait Spivey is a speculative fiction writer and freelance editor. Fiction is a passion she doesn’t see giving up any time soon. In her spare time, she plans her next tattoo (there will always be a next tattoo) and watches too much Netflix. Anything left over is devoted to her tireless quest to make America read more. She lives in Portland, Oregon, with her darling husband Matt and adorable dog Jay.

Ashley "A.M." Ruggirello is an INFP author with glorious purple and gray hair, who currently lives in Beer and Cheese Land, Wisconsin with her husband, dog, and cat. When not lost in the fictional world of Skyrim (The Elder Scrolls; PSN: supersmaaashley), she can be found exploring design patterns and typography combinations, manipulating (hacking) website code, or with pen & paper in hand, writing her many YA and Adult novels (see below). She considers herself a designer by nature, a writer at heart, and always wanted to make video game walk-throughs as a child. (She still does. Things don't change that much.) Ashley’s favorite color is chartreuse, and she has an undeniable attraction to moss (not of the Kate variety). Ashley is represented by Mandy Hubbard of Emerald City Literary Agency.
